Primary Training
A key to RSI's success has been high-quality, in-depth staff training. RSI offers a variety of training opportunities designed to increase staff's knowledge and competence in providing quality services. Our training program is separated into Initial, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
RSI offers all new staff members 75-100 hours of Initial Training during their first six months of employment in the following topics:
- New Employee Orientation/ Vulnerable Adult Law training
- RSI Mission and Philosophy
- Safety Procedures to include BBP and Back Safety
- CPR and First Aid
- Vehicle Safety
- Medication Administration
- Documentation
- Professional Boundaries
Intermediate Training
Following this, all staff members participate in the Intermediate Training sequence, where they continue to learn new skills. Some of the training topics in the Intermediate sequences are:

Advanced Training
RSI encourages continued learning for all of our employees. Once completed with Initial and Intermediate trainings, staff may choose to continue training in Supervisor and Leadership skills, Independent Living Skills counseling, or other areas of their choosing.
