RSI has funds available to assist employees working in the fields of long-term health care, nursing or human services. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage professional growth and development.
Eligibility
- The applicant must have been employed by RSI for 6 months or more.
- The applicant must have good work performance and be approved by their supervisor.
- The applicant must have successfully completed all of RSI's Orientation and Initial Trainings as specified in the Staff Training Policy.
- The applicant must perform direct care duties as specified in their job description.
- The applicant must work an average of 20 hours per week or more.
- Training or course work must be related to the field of long-term health care, nursing or human services.
- Money awarded must only be used for qualified educational expenses including tuition, books and required fees.

Application Procedures
- Eligible employees must submit a written application to the Staff Development Director. This application is available from the Staff Development Director, or can be downloaded from the RSI Scholarship Page or here.
- The Staff Development Director, with input from the Training Advisory Committee, will determine the actual amount of scholarship dollars awarded to each employee.
- The applicant must agree to provide grades, progress reports and accountability of funds.
- The applicant must sign a Scholarship Agreement if a scholarship is granted.
Scholarship applications for traditional college-based programs are typically due by the 10th of April, July and November. Scholarship applications for conferences, workshops or other specialized training programs will be reviewed on an as-needed basis and should be applied for at least 45 days prior to the training. This scholarship is grant-funded, and will be discontinued should grant dollars become unavailable.
